Introducing the Victron MultiPlus-II 24/5000/120-95 120V

The Victron MultiPlus-II 24/5000/120-95 120V is a high-capacity, single-phase inverter/charger built for 24V electrical systems that need substantial AC output, fast battery charging, and seamless integration with shore power or a generator. It delivers 5000VA of inverter capacity, 4000W continuous output at 25°C, and up to 9000W peak power, making it well suited for larger RV, marine, off-grid, and backup power systems.

Designed for 120V single-phase operation, this inverter accepts a single 120V AC input and delivers 120V AC output. It is an excellent choice for high-output single-phase installations or as part of a dual-inverter system configured to provide true 120/240V split-phase power.

With a 120A battery charger and 95A transfer switch, the MultiPlus-II combines several major power-system functions into a single platform. It accepts 90–140V AC input and can automatically transition critical loads to inverter power when external AC is lost. The primary output transfers in less than 20 milliseconds, helping connected electronics continue operating with little or no noticeable interruption.

Single-Phase 120V or Dual-Inverter 120/240V Split-Phase Power

Single-Inverter Installations: The MultiPlus-II 24/5000 is designed for high-output 120V single-phase applications. With one 120V AC input leg and one 120V output phase, it provides substantial inverter capacity for systems that do not require 240V power. A single unit does not accept a 120/240V split-phase input or independently generate 240V output.

Dual-Inverter Split-Phase Installations: For larger electrical systems, two matching MultiPlus-II 24/5000 units can be configured together using Victron's VE.Bus platform to create true 120/240V split-phase power. Each inverter supplies one 120V leg (L1 or L2), providing 240V between the legs while delivering up to 10,000VA of combined inverter capacity. This configuration is particularly useful for larger RVs, mobile power systems, and off-grid installations requiring both 120V and 240V power.

This dual-inverter architecture is used in MobileMustHave's Elite power bundle, providing a scalable foundation for demanding mobile power installations.

120A Battery Charging and 95A AC Transfer

The integrated charger provides up to 120A of battery charging current, helping large 24V battery banks recover efficiently when shore or generator power is available. The charging profile specifies 28.8V absorption, 27.6V float, and 26.4V storage voltage.

A 95A transfer switch handles the transition between external AC and inverter operation. The primary AC output includes no-break functionality: when shore, generator, or grid power disappears, the MultiPlus-II can transfer connected loads to inverter power in less than 20 milliseconds, fast enough for computers and many electronic devices to continue operating without interruption.

A second AC output is available for loads that should only operate while external AC is present. Both AC outputs operate on the same 120V phase when used as a standalone inverter.
