Introducing the Victron Energy Orion 48/12-60
The Victron Energy Orion 48/12-60 (ORI481260020) is a high-power, non-isolated DC-DC converter designed to supply 12V equipment from a 48V DC electrical system. It accepts a 38–66V DC input and provides an adjustable 10–15V output, factory set to 13.2V. With 60A of continuous output current and up to 65A maximum output, it is built for systems that need substantially more 12V capacity than a small accessory converter can provide
For RVs, overland vehicles, marine systems, off-grid installations, commercial vehicles, telecom equipment, and industrial DC systems, the Orion provides a practical way to retain a higher-voltage battery architecture while continuing to operate common 12V loads. Instead of redesigning every accessory circuit around 48V, the converter creates a dedicated high-current 12V supply from the existing 48V source.
Remote Control and Expandable Capacity
A built-in remote on/off connection makes it possible to control the converter without placing a high-current switch directly in the main input wiring. The remote circuit can instead be operated by a low-power switch or another suitable control method, simplifying system control in vehicles, equipment cabinets, and distributed DC installations.
