February 2022 - AT&T Activation Issue Resolved - We have worked with AT&T and resolved the issue where this modem was not activating on certain data plans. We have tested and verified issue is resolved. This modem is AT&T certified and works on data plans designed to work with this modem.

Peplink new MAX BR1 Pro now has an upgraded CAT-20 modem with 2GB max download throughput and an upgraded processor from the Transit and BR1 predecessors.  This unit comes in Peplink's new chassis, latest Cat 20 ready modem, dual-band wifi 6, WiFi as Wan, and more.

The MAX BR1 Pro CAT-20 is a complete mobile internet solution for travelers who are looking to use Cellular data as their primary mode of staying connected. The MAX BR1 Pro CAT-20 has two sim slots (nano) allowing you to load this router with multiple sim cards from multiple carriers allowing you to select which sim/carrier is in use by the modem. The signal from your cellular connection is then re-broadcasted wirelessly inside your coach or travel trailer using the unit's high-powered WIFI 6, 2x2 MIMO WiFi antennas. You get powerful 2ghz (long-range) and 5ghz (high speed) wireless connectivity that now takes advantage of the latest WIFI 6 technology with much faster throughput than its predecessor while also getting wired ethernet ports for your most demanding devices like VOIP phones or desktop computer/workstations.

You can also utilize the MAX BR1 Pro CAT-20 Wifi-As-Wan functionality to connect to campground wifi in addition to utilizing the cellular modem. For the advanced user, you can load-balance multiple connections (advanced feature) allowing you to utilize wireless/wired and cellular connections simultaneously. Truly an industrial-grade, mobile workhorse for the serious travel enthusiast.

The unit's highly customizable web interface supports a variety of advanced routing features and will satisfy the needs of power users while being extremely easy to use for the non-technical as well. The unit accepts 12v inputs (optional fused molex direct wire cable exclusively from MobileMustHave.com) or you can use the included AC adapter for 110v installation.

ALL NEW 5G x62 Chipset

The X62 modems included in this device represent the latest generation 5G modems available for mobile routers. This includes support for 2-way 5G carrier aggregation and higher peak theoretical speeds. Support for carrier aggregation between low and mid-band frequencies and the ability to combine cellular spectrums to improve speed, range and reliability. The ability to perform carrier aggregation on low-band and mid-band at the same time represents a huge leap forward in cellular performance, speed and connection reliability. The x62 supports AT&T's "Andromeda" mid-band spectrum which was not supported on previous models such as the X55.

One Embedded Cellular Modem

This mobile router is equipped with a single cellular modem. This device may have multiple SIM card slots but can connect to one cellular provider at a time. Single modem devices may include a USB port or expansion slot to add additional modems. Switching between SIM card slots can be done via the management console, typically in 30-60 seconds allowing time for the modem to reboot utilizing the auxiliary SIM slot(s). Higher-end single modem devices often have faster maximum download/upload speeds then other devices but lack the redundancy found in a multi-modem device. Our multi-modem collection of devices can be found here

Internet traffic can be routed in a variety of ways using Peplink's proprietary Outbound Policy Management Algorithms.  Single modem devices may be capable of utilizing SpeedFusion technology, also known as "WAN bonding", which may require separate licensing. Single modem devices can bond the single cellular connection with the devices WAN port or WIFI-as-WAN sources if the device supports these functions.  See SpeedFusion section on this page for additional information.

Category 20 Modem

This mobile router is equipped with one or more category 20 LTE Advanced Pro cellular modems with a maximum download speed of 2Gbps and a maximum upload speed of 211Mbps (typical speeds range from 10-175mbps depending on cellular network conditions and coverage). The category of the modem impacts the maximum upload and download speed of the device and what cellular bands or "channels" the device can connect to. Cellular bands act similarly to "channels" on television, each cellular provider broadcasts on specific bands. Category 20 modems support connecting to the primary bands of all major carriers such as Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T and step up lower category modems to include additional LTE secondary bands for increased speed and coverage in many areas. This typically access to Band 14, and T-Mobile's Band 71. Category 20 modems also offer faster upload speeds and support the latest LTE-A technology. For a complete list of bands supported, click the documentation tab for detailed specifications.

Category 20 modems are popular as they blend exceptional performance and value over more expensive 5G modems that may not yet perform significantly faster as 5G is very new. Category 20 modems are very popular with customers that need the fastest possible speeds for large file downloads or uploads or who require access to secondary Bands to improve performance on a particular cellular carrier. Category 20 modems can bring faster speeds but can come with trade offs. Category 20 routers typically are single modem devices as a dual modem version would require 8 cellular antennas and be costly.

Licensed for SpeedFusion

This device is licensed for SpeedFusion access. SpeedFusion is Peplink's proprietary WAN bonding solution that can bond multiple internet connections together into a single, more resilient connection for added connection reliability. SpeedFusion-capable devices create a VPN tunnel that allows multiple internet connections to act as a single connection. SpeedFusion supports WAN-Smoothing, a technology that helps to prevent packet loss which is typically the cause for unstable internet connections. In order to utilize SpeedFusion you must either host your own SpeedFusion instance at a secondary location/datacenter or use Peplink's SpeedFusion Cloud service which is available for an additional monthly subscription fee. This device includes data allotment for SpeedFusion cloud transfer at up to 100Mbps per second (amount of data will change based on the hardware). For more information on SpeedFusion and SpeedFusion Cloud, please reach out to us below.

Roof Antenna Recommended

This mobile router comes with indoor antennas that provide 3db of cellular gain. Upgrading to an optional roof antenna can provide significant signal improvement by moving the cellular antenna outside, at higher elevation and provide you the benefit of an antenna with higher gain specifications. Roof antennas can be added now with a bundle discount by checking out our Internet Bundle Section, or at a later date based on your needs.

Supports WiFi-as-WAN

This device supports WiFi-As-WAN, meaning you can pick up public WiFi signals from hotspots, campgrounds, and other sources to rebroadcast them into your coach and use them as your local internet. The wireless antennas included with this modem will pick up these signals and rebroadcast them locally within your own WiFi network.

*Using public WiFi may be unreliable due to external environmental forces typically outside of customer's control and as such public WiFi is recommended to be used as a secondary backup connection.

WiFi 6 Technology

WiFi 6 expands the WiFi band from 80 MHz to 160 MHz, doubling the channel width and creating a faster connection from your router to the device. With WiFi 6, you can enjoy 8K movies, large file downloads and uploads, and responsive smart home devices – all without buffering. WiFi 6 allows for speeds of up to 9.6 gigabits per second (Gbps), up from WiFi 5's 3.5 Gbps.

This means faster internal file transfers and less speed loss between the modem to your device.

FirstNet Ready

This device is FirstNet Ready! FirstNet is the nationwide public safety communications platform dedicated to America's first responders. Being built with AT&T, in public-private partnership with the FirstNet Authority, FirstNet utilizes Band-14, which is reserved for public safety but is also being marketed as available to the public for additional bandwidth capacity. In testing Band-14 has been made available during non-emergency situations to the public to provide additional bandwidth and coverages to customers who have a modem that supports FirstNet's Band-14. Not all modems that support Band-14 are "FirstNet Certified" however they typically can connect to Band-14 in most areas. Information on FirstNet certifications can be found on Specification sheets located on the Documentation Tab. Additional information about FirstNet's use and technology can be found in this article from our friends at the RV Mobile Internet Resource Center.

Band 71 Ready

This device supports Band 71. Band 71 is T-Mobile's rural cellular band that operates on 600mhz which provides significant increases in coverage on the T-Mobile network for customers traveling outside of urban areas. 5G ready devices that support Band 71 typically also support Band 71n which is the 5G band for T-Mobile. Note that not all devices are 5G devices so check the listing above but with or without 5G you will still achieve increased coverage on the T-Mobile network with any device that supports Band 71. For more information about Band 71, check out the Band 71 Guide from our friends at the Mobile Internet Resource Center

    Peplink MAX BR1 Pro

I’ve had the router now for about a week and find the features to be impressive. I installed a backup card first and then activated the 300Gb plan purchased with the router and installed that card. I also paid for MMH to set up the router and training. The training video was helpful but also scheduled a live session. All my questions have been answered and they are still there if I need more assistance. The service is top notch, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

I have not had the router in place long enough to review yet, but the MMH support in it's configuration was fantastic.

I am new to the Peplink line of routers and their configuration. Joshua, MMH support, answered my "chat" request for configuration support within a minute or two. He was very familiar with the equipment. He never rushed walking me through every step I needed help with, until all the configuration was exactly what I needed. This level of timely support is almost unheard of in the industry. I will also add the Peplink equipment was being installed in a public safety data center, and not mobile. The Peplink multiple WAN feeds and auto failover is exactly what we needed. So even though MMH (name) appears to cater to the "mobile" environment, their expertise and the Peplink line of equipment is equally impressive for the small data center environment. I can update this once I have some more time with the hardware.

    All Around Excellence

I'm using this in an RV with an AT&T prepaid plan. Using the stock antennas, the connection is 5 times faster on AT&T cellular compared to my previous mobile router, and the WiFi as WAN is also much more robust. When the WiFi as WAN connection goes down the transfer to cellular is almost seamless. Streaming HD television is flawless with my streaming devices connected via ethernet.

    Badass System!!

I am planning a trip down to Baja Mexico in my RV. I looked at many other cheaper systems. In the end I decided I didn't want to cut corners on the most important thing in my RV other than the engine and the tires. I also paid extra for the remote setup and training class. It was definitely worth it. Dave was very patient with me and went over everything in great detail. After the class I realized this router has everything I was looking for and more. A very impressive piece of equipment to say the least! The customer service is second to none. Dave was very fast and efficient to respond to me, and so were the people that work in the customer service chat line. All my questions were answered very clearly. I am extremely happy with my purchase and the customer service they provide. And recommend this system to anyone that is serious about having the best system on the market

The Best for ALL things Mobile Communications

I cannot say enough how awesome these guys really are with all things mobile communications. Yes you can probably say a couple of dollars not much at all by buying from the Big A but I assure you that you will not get the wealth of info and knowledge about the setup you are looking to achieve for your specific needs. From the moment I called them all the way through to receiving and setting up my equipment these guys were very knowledgeable and helpful. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else trust me when I tell you they will not disappoint.
