Battery Wiring Kit (Per Battery)

The Off-Grid Power Single Battery Wiring Kit provides the high-current DC cable, copper lugs, and adhesive-lined heat shrink needed to connect a single battery to the DC distribution system used in compatible MobileMustHave Off-Grid Power Bundles.

This kit is sized per battery and is typically used to connect an individual battery to the system's Lynx distribution equipment or other designated battery connection point according to the detailed MMH wiring diagrams. As additional batteries are selected, the appropriate number of wiring kits can be added so the required cable and termination materials scale with the battery bank.

All battery cable supplied in this kit is black. Red and black adhesive-lined heat shrink are included to clearly identify positive and negative cable terminations.

Quantities shown are for one battery. Wire quantities are measured in linear feet, and heat shrink is supplied in 12-inch sections. The included lugs are sized for the battery connection points shown in the MMH wiring diagrams. Systems with multiple batteries require the appropriate quantity of per-battery wiring kits.

High-Quality, Multi-Rated Copper Cable

The 1/0 AWG cable included in this kit is full-AWG, pure annealed electrolytic OFC copper cable made in the USA. Its Class K (Type III) flexible rope-lay construction makes it easier to route through mobile installations while providing the copper content required for demanding high-current battery connections.

The cable carries multiple ratings and approvals, including UL MTW Machine Tool Wire, UL1426 BC5-W2 Boat Cable, UL THW building wire, UL AWM, and SAE J1127 Type SGT automotive battery cable ratings. It is rated for 105°C dry and 75°C wet environments and features a durable PVC jacket resistant to oil, water, acid, gasoline, abrasion, tears, and sunlight.

The cable carries a UL VW-1 flame-resistance rating and, depending on the applicable wire rating, is rated for applications up to 600V or 1000V. The full-AWG copper construction provides excellent conductivity without the compromises associated with copper-clad aluminum conductors.

Tin-Plated Pure Copper Lugs

The included heavy-duty lugs are manufactured from pure ETP/OFC copper and tin plated for corrosion resistance. Their seamless construction, flared barrel, and chamfered opening are designed to work with flexible stranded copper cable used in high-current battery and power-system connections.

The lugs are UL Listed/CSA Certified and can be crimped or soldered. The included 5/16" lug holes are also compatible with M8 hardware.

Adhesive-Lined Dual-Wall Heat Shrink

The included red and black heat shrink uses a 3:1 shrink ratio dual-wall construction with a flame-retardant cross-linked polyolefin exterior and hot-melt adhesive interior. When properly heated, the tubing shrinks tightly around the cable termination and the adhesive forms a durable, flexible, water-resistant seal.

Because this kit uses black cable for the battery conductors, red heat shrink is used to identify positive terminations and black heat shrink is used to identify negative terminations according to the supplied MMH wiring diagrams.

Per-Battery System Expansion

This wiring kit is packaged specifically for one battery connection, allowing the required wiring materials to scale with the size of the battery bank. A separate kit is used for each battery included in the supported system configuration.
