Introducing The Peplink 5G Dongle 

The Peplink 5G Dongle delivers high-speed 5G and LTE connectivity in an ultra-compact form factor designed for laptops, Peplink routers, mobile networks, and failover applications. Unlike a basic USB cellular modem, the 5G Dongle provides an integrated USB Ethernet interface, local WebUI management, InControl 2 cloud management, physical SIM and eSIM flexibility, and external antenna connectivity for more advanced deployments.

Connect the dongle through USB-C and it can provide cellular connectivity to compatible Windows, macOS, Linux, and Peplink devices, appearing as an Ethernet interface for straightforward network integration. A complimentary 1GB Peplink eSIM data plan is included for initial provisioning, helping supported deployments get online quickly while allowing users to activate their own carrier eSIM afterward.

High-Speed 5G Connectivity Through USB-C

The Peplink 5G Dongle uses a single embedded 5G modem capable of theoretical cellular speeds up to 3.4 Gbps down and 550 Mbps up, with LTE Cat 19 fallback supporting up to 1.6 Gbps down and 200 Mbps up.

Its integrated USB Ethernet interface allows the cellular connection to be handed directly to a compatible computer or Peplink router. When paired with a Peplink router, the dongle can add an additional cellular WAN for applications such as 5G/LTE failover, backup

The 5G Dongle provides flexible carrier options for users who need reliable connectivity across different regions and networks. It supports two physical Nano-SIM slots, Peplink eSIM, and BYO eSIM with up to two profiles, making it easier to switch carriers or maintain backup connectivity without relying on a single network.

 Local & Cloud-Based Network Management

The 5G Dongle provides more management capability than a conventional plug-in cellular modem. Users can access real-time information including signal strength, latency, connected-client information, and bandwidth usage through the local WebUI and Peplink InControl 2.

Measuring only 3.9 × 2.8 × 0.7 inches and weighing approximately 0.3 lb / 135 grams, the 5G Dongle is small enough for laptops, mobile workstations, vehicles, RVs, marine installations, field equipment, and temporary networks.

Despite its compact size, it is designed for demanding environments with an operating temperature range of -40°F to 149°F (-40°C to 65°C) and humidity tolerance up to 95% non-condensing. Four SMA cellular antenna connectors allow external antennas to be used when additional signal performance or installation flexibility is required.

USB-C Cable Notice

A USB-C cable is not included with the Peplink 5G Dongle. 

A compatible USB-C cable must support both power and data transfer for the dongle to provide network connectivity. Charge-only USB-C cables may power the device but will not provide the required data connection.
