Hughes Autoformers Replacement Surge Module for Gen II 50A Surge Protectors with Wifi

  • Description

Easily replace a damaged surge protection module with this replacement module from Hughes Autoformers. This replacement surge protection module is only for the PWD50EPOW, PWD50EPOHW and PWD50W units.  It is designed for use only with the 50 Amp ‘generation 2’ WiFi units and not compatible with Gen 1 units.

Instructions

  • Unplug the unit – make sure unit is fully disconnected from power prior to installation.
  • Unscrew 6 Phillips screws on the back of the unit (*7 screws for the EPO versions).
  • Unscrew the top cable gland nut and move it up the cord.
  • The surge module slides in/out of the slot. Unclip the one red/black wire, and loosen the screws holding the fork wire connectors to the wire leads.
  • Unplug the old surge module from the unit.
  • Connect the new surge protection module and wires. “G” is ground and green color, “N” is neutral and white color, “L
  • Replace all the screws and re-tighten the cable gland nuts.

All surge protectors and voltage boosters by Hughes Autoformers feature modular surge protection - meaning that if a surge occurs that would have damaged your RV, the surge module will be damaged instead. Due to the modular construction, you can just take out the damaged part and replace it with a new surge module instead of purchasing a new surge protector.

    Hughes Autoformers a magnificent

    I bought one of the new 50A Autoformers when they came out and cannot speak highly enough about it. It has been a wonderful add to the RV. I bought the replacement Surge Module to keep in the cabinet for the what if.... In the past with other brands you had to replace the entire unit. This cheap, easy insurance.

    Get the Autoformer and this you'll be happy you did.
