The OMNI-600-02 is a unique new design with improved 2x2 MIMO electrical performance. The ultra-wideband covers all contemporary operating frequencies with excellent balanced gain across all frequencies. Higher frequencies are not compromised and the antenna design allows Poynting to have superior pattern control over the entire frequency range, making the OMNI-600-02 a true high-performance Omni-directional antenna. Usable in all parts of the world, the OMNI-600-02 guarantees signal reception almost everywhere. Poynting Antennas achieves this through a new antenna configuration using multiple dipoles and a unique (patented) feed network. The antenna is future-proof as it covers the 450MHz frequency and 3.5GHz CBRS band which is gaining popularity in various regions and countries.
See Documentation Tab for additional features and detailed specifications.
- Medium gain omnidirectional antenna
- 2x2 MIMO
- Robust and weather-resistant
- 2.4 - 2.5 GHz band can be used as a WiFi antenna
The antenna featured on this page is an omni-directional antenna. Omni-directional antennas are designed to pick up signals in a 360-degree pattern around the antenna and do not require that they be aimed or pointed at the cellular or WIFI broadcasting tower. Omni-directional antennas offer a blend of performance and ease of use over directional antennas that may have higher performance and gain specifications. Omni-directional antennas also perform well if a customer is utilizing multiple cellular or WIFI connections that may be broadcasting in different directions, for example if a customer has data plans from multiple cellular providers and cell towers are in different directions. Omni-directional antennas are the preferred style of antenna for mobile travelers and those who change their location and method of connecting to the internet frequently as they offer solid performance without the need to point the antenna.
Directional antennas may be better suited than omni-directional antennas for customers with fixed locations such as rural home or business customers.
This device is FirstNet Ready! FirstNet is the nationwide public safety communications platform dedicated to America's first responders. Being built with AT&T, in public-private partnership with the FirstNet Authority, FirstNet utilizes Band-14, which is reserved for public safety but is also being marketed as available to the public for additional bandwidth capacity. In testing Band-14 has been made available during non-emergency situations to the public to provide additional bandwidth and coverages to customers who have a modem that supports FirstNet's Band-14. Not all modems that support Band-14 are "FirstNet Certified" however they typically can connect to Band-14 in most areas. Information on FirstNet certifications can be found on Specification sheets located on the Documentation Tab. Additional information about FirstNet's use and technology can be found in this article from our friends at the RV Mobile Internet Resource Center.

I am happy to report the Poynting OMNI-600 performs as advertised. It works well with my Cradlepoint COR IBR-900 mobile router and Netgear Unite Explore hotspot. It is built to withstand the elements and appears to be sturdy enough to survive the vibrations and jolts of the highways and backroads. The customer service I've received from MobileMustHave is top-notch! They stock hard to find products that solve my mobile connectivity problems. I have recommended them to friends and family without reservation.
I have a Nighthawk wifi hotspot in my Airstream, which is a great device, and usually works well. However, it is inside a metal trailer, so I wanted a good external antenna I could connect to the TS9 ports, to get a better signal. I bought this, and attached it to the TV antenna mast (removed old antenna), so I could put it up when I needed to. From the control panel of my router, I see a 15db improvement in signal. Haven't taken it on the road yet, but this looks really good.
Made a BIG difference for me
I've been having connection issues with my Verizon MIFI 8800L due to my location and a weak signal. I purchased the Poynting OMNI-600 to see if it would help. The antenna fixed my connection issues so I ran some speed tests to compare the results. When I ran the speed tests early in the morning my download speed was 39.13Mbps without the antenna and improved to 47.10Mbps with the antenna. The antenna did hurt my upload speed, without the antenna my upload speed was 7.72Mbps, with the antenna my upload speed dropped to 3.78Mbps.When I ran the speed tests in the evening, my download speed was 3.38Mbps without the antenna and 12.24Mbps with the antenna. So, the antenna tripled my download speed. My upload speeds were slightly improved. Without the antenna my upload speed was 0.02Mbps, with the antenna my upload speed improved to 0.05Mbps.
