One Embedded Cellular Modem

This mobile router is equipped with a single cellular modem. This device may have multiple SIM card slots but can connect to one cellular provider at a time. Single modem devices may include a USB port or expansion slot to add additional modems. Switching between SIM card slots can be done via the management console, typically in 30-60 seconds allowing time for the modem to reboot utilizing the auxiliary SIM slot(s). Higher-end single modem devices often have faster maximum download/upload speeds then other devices but lack the redundancy found in a multi-modem device. Our multi-modem collection of devices can be found here

Internet traffic can be routed in a variety of ways using Peplink's proprietary Outbound Policy Management Algorithms.  Single modem devices may be capable of utilizing SpeedFusion technology, also known as "WAN bonding", which may require separate licensing. Single modem devices can bond the single cellular connection with the devices WAN port or WIFI-as-WAN sources if the device supports these functions.  See SpeedFusion section on this page for additional information.

Licensed for SpeedFusion

This device is licensed for SpeedFusion access. SpeedFusion is Peplink's proprietary WAN bonding solution that can bond multiple internet connections together into a single, more resilient connection for added connection reliability. SpeedFusion-capable devices create a VPN tunnel that allows multiple internet connections to act as a single connection. SpeedFusion supports WAN-Smoothing, a technology that helps to prevent packet loss which is typically the cause for unstable internet connections. In order to utilize SpeedFusion you must either host your own SpeedFusion instance at a secondary location/datacenter or use Peplink's SpeedFusion Cloud service which is available for an additional monthly subscription fee. This device includes data allotment for SpeedFusion cloud transfer at up to 100Mbps per second (amount of data will change based on the hardware). For more information on SpeedFusion and SpeedFusion Cloud, please reach out to us below.

Roof Antenna Recommended

This mobile router comes with indoor antennas that provide 3db of cellular gain. Upgrading to an optional roof antenna can provide significant signal improvement by moving the cellular antenna outside, at higher elevation and provide you the benefit of an antenna with higher gain specifications. Roof antennas can be added now with a bundle discount by checking out our Internet Bundle Section, or at a later date based on your needs.

Supports WiFi-as-WAN

This device supports WiFi-As-WAN, meaning you can pick up public WiFi signals from hotspots, campgrounds, and other sources to rebroadcast them into your coach and use them as your local internet. The wireless antennas included with this modem will pick up these signals and rebroadcast them locally within your own WiFi network.

*Using public WiFi may be unreliable due to external environmental forces typically outside of customer's control and as such public WiFi is recommended to be used as a secondary backup connection.

WiFi 6 Technology

WiFi 6 expands the WiFi band from 80 MHz to 160 MHz, doubling the channel width and creating a faster connection from your router to the device. With WiFi 6, you can enjoy 8K movies, large file downloads and uploads, and responsive smart home devices – all without buffering. WiFi 6 allows for speeds of up to 9.6 gigabits per second (Gbps), up from WiFi 5's 3.5 Gbps.

This means faster internal file transfers and less speed loss between the modem to your device.

Manage Devices Remotely with InControl2

InControl2 is Peplink's cloud-based endpoint management system. When connected to your devices, it aggregates data to generate useful reports on all aspects of your network. On a single screen, you can push configurations to any and all of your endpoints. If you need to dig deeper, you can remotely access the web admin of any device on your network.

For most MobileMustHave customers this features is not required, but it does allow your device to be accessible to you via the cloud.  This can be an advantage if you would like to remotely control your device, track your vehicles location (if GPS is enabled), and allow support access to remote in (when permission is granted).

InControl2 is included with all router purchases for 1-Year and is included with EssentialCare and PrimeCare Warranty Renewal Options.

    Some Quality Concerns

Overall, the router is working very well. The software interface is excellent. I'm using the device with a T-Mobile Business Internet Unlimited SIM. My concerns are 1) this thing can get screamin' HOT! Sometimes, it's only warm to the touch, but at other times, it's uncomfortably hot. The unit isn't sitting in the sun, so the only explanation is that it's working very hard on discerning the signals it's sending and receiving, but it seems rather erratic. I'd feel more comfortable if it ran a more consistent operating temperature. The 2nd thing is that two of the SMA antenna connectors have been found to be loose and required tightening. For a device costing this much, you'd think they could properly apply the correct amount of tightening torque to the connectors at the factory. Having worked with panel connectors like this quite a lot, there is always some concern that tightening connectors like these could be placing twisting-stress on the delicate wiring usually found on the inside. 5 stars for device performance, software, and for MobileMustHave's sales and fulfilment. -2 stars for heat and connector issues. One big hope that the device has solid stamina for the long haul.

Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, Thomas. It's great to hear that your new router is performing so well! To your point about the router getting hot; Peplink routers are designed in such a way that they dissipate heat outwards to protect internal components, so the fact that it's getting hot is actually the router doing what it's supposed to do. That being said, if you have it in a confined space, like a small cabinet, it may be worth adding a small fan in that space to help it cool down a bit.

The SMA connectors being loose is highly unusual. It sounds like you were able to successfully tighten them, but if you have continued issues with that, please reach out to our support team at info@mobilemusthave.com with a screenshot or video showing the loosened ports and they'll make sure to get you taken care of.

    Great 50% of the Time

First, setting expectations. No 5G UW, your phone will be way faster in UW areas. Second, phones receive priority data usage and speed so this under most decent conditions will not be faster than your phone. Paired with the Huskey 7 channel antenna mounted on the roof. In certain situations, the reception is much better than my phone sitting in a metal box (sprinter RV). With download speeds anywhere from 5 to 10 times faster and ping 10 to 25% better. But there are occasional situations whereby my phone data inside the sprinter using the same carrier is much better than the router.....inexplicable and not intuitive given the massive antenna sitting on the roof. I have reached out to MMH for an explanation on this with no real cogent answer. Getting a Verizon sim to work was a lobotomy but did finally achieve it through a roundabout method.

    Wonderful router

This router is amazing. I upgraded from an older 4g to this 5g router. I really am impressed with the interface speed. Its easy to setup, The WIFI 6 is a great bonus. I am getting great speed and much better latency now (all the things you would expect). Using Verizon as my ISP.
