Peplink AP Pro AX (HW3) Rugged Outdoor Wireless Access Point

The Peplink AP Pro AX (HW3) is an outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point built for places a normal AP will not survive. Its sealed IP67 metal enclosure is rated for -40°C to 65°C, so it can be pole or wall mounted on a job site, a dock, a marina, a farm, or the side of a building and keep delivering simultaneous dual-band 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 to phones, tablets, laptops, and IoT gear. It draws power over a single Ethernet run using 802.3at PoE+, or from a 12V DC feed through its sealed power port, and it manages through InControl 2 cloud, the Peplink AP Controller, or the local web interface. Four external N-type antenna connectors let you match antennas to the coverage pattern you actually need. HW3 is the current hardware revision of the AP Pro AX.

• Modern security: WPA3 Personal and Enterprise, WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode, Enhanced Open (OWE).
• Router or bridge: runs as a bridged AP on an existing LAN or in NAT mode with PPPoE, static IP, or DHCP.

Special Callouts

Antennas are not included. The AP Pro AX ships with no antennas attached — you need two 2.4GHz and two 5GHz N-type omni or directional antennas (Peplink's ACW-825 outdoor kit is the common pairing). Plan antenna choice and cable length before install.

Power is also not included. There is no PoE injector or AC/DC adapter in the box. Budget an 802.3at PoE+ source (switch port or injector such as the ACW-107) or a 12V DC supply. Maximum draw is 14.5W, so an 802.3af source is not sufficient.

Outdoor cable prep matters. The IP67 rating holds when the supplied M25 cable gland and DC connector cover are installed as documented, which means terminating your own RJ45 through the gland. Follow Peplink's assembly sequence, observe DC polarity on the power plug, and disconnect power before changing any wiring.

Mounting: the included kit supports vertical pole, horizontal pole, and wall mounting.

Specifications apply to hardware revision HW3 and are taken from Peplink's HW3 datasheet; HW2 units differ. Antennas, PoE injectors, and AC/DC adapters are not included. The IP67 rating applies when the supplied gland, plug, and covers are installed as documented.
