The Victron MultiPlus-II 12/3000/120-50 2x120V is a professional-grade inverter/charger for 12V mobile and off-grid power systems. It combines a 120V pure sine wave inverter, high-output battery charger, and automatic transfer switch in one unit, helping a properly designed battery system power AC loads and recharge from shore power, generator power, or another compatible AC source.

This 2x120V model is designed for North American 50A RV and mobile power applications where 120V loads may be located on both sides of the electrical panel. When operating from battery power, the inverter output is 120V single phase and can supply 120V loads on both L1 and L2 output legs. It does not create 240V power from the battery by itself; 240V loads require a proper split-phase 120/240V AC source or a correctly designed multi-unit system.

With 3000VA inverter capacity, 2400W continuous output at 77°F / 25°C, 120A battery charging, and a 50A transfer switch, this MultiPlus-II is a strong foundation for capable RV, van, marine, overland, mobile workspace, and off-grid power systems built around a 12V battery bank.

Real-World Power Expectations

As a single unit, this MultiPlus-II is best understood as a practical “one major appliance plus everyday background loads” inverter/charger. In a properly sized system, it may typically support one larger AC load at a time along with smaller loads such as lights, fans, device chargers, TVs, routers, Starlink, computers, or a CPAP machine. Actual performance depends on battery capacity, wiring, installation, appliance draw, configuration, temperature, and what else is running at the same time.

For larger systems, Victron inverter/chargers can be used in expanded configurations (stacked) when properly designed and configured. In those systems, total capability depends on the number of units, battery bank, AC layout, charging sources, and overall system design.

Best For

  • 50A RV and mobile power systems with 120V loads on both sides of the AC panel
  • 12V lithium battery systems that need inverter power and AC charging in one unit
  • RV, van, marine, overland, and mobile workspace builds using Victron components
  • Systems that need shore or generator input, battery charging, and automatic transfer switching
  • Customers building a complete Victron-based power ecosystem with monitoring, charging, and future expansion in mind

Core Features

  • Combines inverter, battery charger, and transfer switching in one Victron platform
  • 2x120V output configuration supports 120V loads on both L1 and L2 output legs in inverter mode
  • 3000VA inverter capacity with 2400W continuous output at 77°F / 25°C
  • 120A battery charger for recharging a 12V battery bank from a compatible AC source
  • 50A transfer switch for integrating shore power, generator power, or another supported AC input
  • Pure sine wave AC output for sensitive electronics and everyday mobile power loads
  • PowerAssist and PowerControl functionality to help manage limited shore or generator power
  • Victron ecosystem compatibility with monitoring, controls, solar charging, alternator charging, batteries, and other system components
  • Supports advanced system designs when properly configured with compatible Victron equipment

System Fit

The MultiPlus-II serves as a central power conversion component in a complete Victron-based mobile power system. It works alongside the battery bank, charging sources, AC distribution, monitoring, protection, and system controls to help create a power setup that is easier to manage, expand, and trust on the road or off-grid.

MobileMustHave helps customers move from parts selection to system confidence with curated Victron products, mobile power expertise, documentation, and support paths for RV, van, marine, overland, and off-grid installations.
