Creating Relays to a Private Network Located Elsewhere
SpeedFusion Relay Mode allows you to establish a relay between your mobile Peplink router and a private network in a different location, such as at a home address using a second Pepwave router or device.
In 2024, Peplink stopped selling their SpeedFusion Relay device, originally called SpeedFusion Home Sharing or SpeedFusion Connect Relay, but the relay functionality continues.
Using Relay mode on a Pepwave router lets you configure some or all of your SpeedFusion traffic to be routed through this location, making it seem like you are connected to the internet from the relay's location instead of a data center hosting the SpeedFusion servers or where your mobile internet provider's network connects to the internet.
Practically, this means you can appear to be connected from a "home" address no matter where you are. This can bypass most streaming geo-blocks or VPN limitations, especially for local TV and sports programming.
Although Relay Mode requires a second Peplink router, you can use a basic non-cellular one like a B One (or the retired SpeedFusion Relay) at the residential address to serve as the relay's output.
This article describes how to set up a relay using any Peplink router.
