You get powerful 2ghz (long-range) and 5ghz (high speed) wireless connectivity that now takes advantage of the latest WIFI 6 technology with much faster throughput than its predecessor while also getting wired ethernet ports for your most demanding devices like VOIP phones or desktop computer/workstations.
You can also utilize the BR1 5G LTE-A's Wifi-As-Wan functionality to connect to campground wifi in addition to utilizing the cellular modem. For the advanced user, you can load-balance multiple connections (advanced feature) allowing you to utilize wireless/wired and cellular connections simultaneously. Truly an industrial-grade, mobile workhorse for the serious travel enthusiast.
The unit's highly customizable web interface supports a variety of advanced routing features and will satisfy the needs of power users while being extremely easy to use for the non-technical as well. The unit accepts 12v inputs (optional fused molex direct wire cable exclusively from MobileMustHave.com) or you can use the included AC adapter for 110v installation.
Single Modem Device
The mobile router listed on this page is equipped with a single cellular modem. This device may have multiple sim card slots but can connect to one cellular provider at a time. Single modem devices may include a USB port or expansion slot to add additional modems. Switching between sim card slots can be done via the management console, typically in 30-60 seconds allowing time for the modem to reboot utilizing the auxiliary sim slot(s). Higher-end single modem devices often have faster maximum download/upload speeds then other devices however they lack the redundancy found in a multi-modem device. Our multi-modem collection of devices can be found here.
Internet traffic can be routed in a variety of ways using Peplink's proprietary Outbound Policy Management Algorithms. Single modem devices may be capable of utilizing SpeedFusion technology also known as "WAN bonding" which may require separate licensing. Single modem devices can bond the single cellular connection with the devices WAN port or WIFI-as-WAN sources if the device supports these functions. See SpeedFusion section on this page for additional information.
The mobile router is equipped with one or more 5G / Category 20 cellular modems with a maximum download speed of 4Gbps and a maximum upload speed of 700Mbps (typical speeds range from 10-350mbps depending on cellular network conditions and coverage). The category of the modem impacts the maximum upload and download speed of the device and what cellular bands or "channels" the device can connect to. Cellular bands act similarly to "channels" on television, each cellular provider broadcasts on specific bands. 5G modems include Bands specific to 5G service and also work on 4G Bands as well. 5G modems have the broadest Band support available today. This includes access to Band 14, and TMobile's Band 71 as well as 5G bands like n71 and n41 and more. For a complete list of bands supported, click the documentation tab for detailed specifications.
5G modems are cutting edge but that performance comes at a price as upgraded processors are needed and the technology is very new. 5G modems are very popular with customers that need the fastest possible speeds for large file downloads or uploads or who require access to secondary Bands to improve performance on a particular cellular carrier but don't mind occasional disconnects that can happen with any single modem device. For customers who require "mission-critical" internet stability, we recommend going with a dual-modem device. 5G modems require 5G data plans to connect at 5G speeds and are not compatible with all data plans. Data plans listed on this page are supported.
The device listed on this page is licensed for SpeedFusion access. SpeedFusion is Peplink's proprietary WAN bonding solution that can bond multiple internet connections together into a single, more resilient connection for added connection reliability. SpeedFusion-capable devices create a VPN tunnel that allows multiple internet connections to act as a single connection. SpeedFusion supports WAN-Smoothing, a technology that helps to prevent packet loss which is typically the cause for unstable internet connections. In order to utilize SpeedFusion you must either host your own SpeedFusion instance at a secondary location/datacenter or use Peplink's SpeedFusion Cloud service which is available for an additional monthly subscription fee. This device includes data allotment for SpeedFusion cloud transfer at up to 100Mbps per second (The amount of data will change based on the hardware). For more information on SpeedFusion and SpeedFusion cloud don't hesitate to get in touch with us below.
Roof Antenna Support
This mobile router comes with indoor antennas that provide 3db of cellular gain. Upgrading to an optional roof antenna can provide significant signal improvement by moving the cellular antenna outside, at higher elevation and provide you the benefit of an antenna with higher gain specifications. Roof antennas can be added now with a bundle discount by checking out our Internet Bundle Section, or at a later date based on your needs.
WiFi as WAN
This device supports Wifi-As-Wan meaning you can pick up public WiFi signals from hotspots, campgrounds, and other sources to rebroadcast them into your coach and use them as your local internet. The wireless antennas included with this modem will pick up these signals and rebroadcast them locally within your own WiFi network.
*Using public WiFi may be unreliable due to external environmental forces typically outside of customer's control and as such public WiFi is recommended to be used as a secondary backup connection.
Wi-Fi 6 expands the WiFi band from 80 MHz to 160 MHz, doubling the channel width and creating a faster connection from your router to the device. With Wi-Fi 6, you can enjoy 8K movies, large file downloads and uploads, and responsive smart home devices – all without buffering. WiFi 6 allows for speeds of up to 9.6 gigabits per second (Gbps), up from WiFi 5's 3.5 Gbps.
This means faster internal file transfers and less speed loss between the modem to your device.

Results After A Season
Bought the Pepwave MAX BR1 Pro 5G router back in May 2022, to equip our new Airstream, and wanted to post a review after using it a while. My wife and I both work remote full time and spend all day online with heavy video calls (MS Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom). Will post separate reviews on the data plans (R300P and P800), and antenna (Parsec Husky 7-1). The system worked perfectly for us, and we received great support from the MMH team on getting the system/SIMs configured and running. OK maybe too good as this kept us working too much :) from our home area in Idaho, to the foothills of California, and the Oregon coast, we had great reliable connectivity and were able to be fully functional. I feel like the system was worth the investment at the release price, more expensive than new current price, so it is a GREAT deal now, and with the service from MMH, you can't go wrong.
The Pepwave MAX BR1 Pro 5G / CAT-20 Mobile Router, WIFI 6 is awesome!!! We had a Jetpack from Verizon and had nothing but troubles with it and Verizon. My wife saw an posting about Mobile Must Have and we researched our options. Invested in the product and it’s been a complete game changer for us. We started living full time in our RV in September and have had nothing but problems with internet access. Now I sleep at night knowing we don’t have to was our time dealing with the daily hassle of plugging in and unplugging components, charging them, moving the antenna around and still not have a good connection. I easily got up and running, then made a plan to install the router, and antenna a couple days later. Now, like magic, the internet is there every morning when I wake up and there’s nothing to do, just enjoy the day. It’s been a game changer for us as access to the web is a major part of our life and Mobile Must Have made it easy!
We stepped up to the MAX BR1 after changing our data plan and getting lower performance at our home base. The upgrade to the new BR1 provided better download speed and a more stable signal at our home base. As we start to move around the country should have great performance.

Speed Demon Bundle
I had a few questions about the bundle. A sales engineer called me at the appointed time and was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my concerns. (Wish I recalled her name). The bundle shipped promptly and arrived with all necessary components and instructions, both written and video. I upgraded to the Parsec MIMO antenna and installed the system myself. (Wish the instructions had included the hole size needed for the antenna spindle.) I installed SIMs for both Verizon and T-Mobile and can choose between the two on the easily-accessible admin site. We are currently camped out in the sticks of central Georgia but the bundle is pulling super fast service. Love the system and support from MobileMustHave. My only quibble with the router is that 115v and 12v power supplies must be changed manually. Would be great to have both plugged in simultaneously and choose via the admin site. But that’s a minor concern. The system has worked beyond my expectations and it is so nice to have fast, reliable, always-on connectivity.
