This optional failover/WAN license enables the WAN port on the MAX Mini. This will allow you to use wired internet connections such as a DSL or Cable connection. This license will also enable the WiFi as WAN feature (to pick up external WiFi networks such as campground wifi), and failover functionality that will automatically switch between cellular and wifi-as-wan or wired connections depending on how you configure the device. If you do NOT need those features, you do not need the additional license (if you decide you want them in the future, the license can be purchased any time to unlock those features).
