I wanted a permanent mount BLU system in my Grand Design 397TH, but the only mounting option for the normal sized 2 or 3 stage unit is behind the service wall . It would be a hassle to change filters and every time I need to winterize I would have to pull the wall. At the end of the season my storage passthrough is full! It is a hassle to pull everything out to open up the wall to remove the filters. Then reverse of that the start of every season to install new ones. This is the main reason why I don't already have a multi-filter system in the RV.
To solve the behind the wall issue, I bought 2 of the Solo 1-stage units and mounted them where the OEM filter was located in the water bay. I took the water in from the one side of the OEM filter and connected it to the water in of a Solo. I then connected with PEX lines from water out on the first one to water in on the second one. (NOTE: I had to rotate one of the Solo's on the mount so the water flow goes the right way...watch the arrows). The final connection was water out on the second unit into the original water in line. Both Solo's fit in the Nautilus water bay and are easy to access. As part of the order, I purchased replacement filters for a 2-stage unit. I installed the filters in the same order as a 2 stage. The system works exactly the same as a 2 stage packaged unit. The advantage of going the way I did vs buying a normal 2 stage unit is I don't have to mount the system horizontal. There is not…
My wife is very sensitive to the taste of water.
She could not drink the water from the well that we are on, even after going through a Brita filter. After installing the Blu Tech Trio she now approves the water quality.
