Super easy & they work
I'm doing a van install so my roof is metal. In my case I also have an enclosed roof rack which holds a tilting solar array. I had to create a small platform to mount this antenna which most people will not need to do. Anyway, the magnets feel strong. I don't think there is much chance of the antenna coming off accidentally. It is also nice that the antenna will hopefully detach instead of break if I accidentally rub a tree.
