The first stage is a longevity filter. This takes out all the big particles first, which keep them from clogging up the next filter and extending the life of all the filter cartridges. 

The second filter is the patented 0.2 micron filter. The smaller micron size means greater protection - similar systems use less effective filters that are 1 micron or larger. This filter is focused on safety of the water to create clean drinking water.  

The third and last filter is all about taste and smell. This filter uses activated carbon and coconut shell to improve your water's taste and smell factor. It has also been shown to remove small amounts of chlorine if present in the water.

Extend the life of your filters with the additional Sediment "LONGEVITY" Filter. With this added pre-filter, you will get 3-4 months of clean and clear water (depending on the turbidity of the water). Water systems will come with your first set of filters already in the stainless steel canisters. The sediment pre-filter will be in the canister by the inlet, the "0.2 Micron High Flow Filter" will be in the middle canister, and the granular activated carbon and coconut shell "Tasty Filter" will be the canister by the outlet.
